Pre-registration for Summer Reading starts Sunday, June 1.
Summer Reading Kick-Off is Saturday, June 21.

Log the books you read this summer to earn prizes and digital raffle tickets towards larger grand prizes between Saturday, June 21 and Saturday, August 16.

Tween and Teen Prizes: Sign-up prize of a tote bag and coloring book, then at 4, 8, and 12 books read.

Tween and Teen Digital Raffle tickets: One awarded at 12 books read, then one for every 4 books read afterwards. Also earn digital raffle tickets by attending library events and submitting 2 book reviews
(see info below).

Volunteer Information

Volunteers can expect their digital certificates 1-2 weeks after completion of hours, with the possibility of longer wait times in the summer due to an increase in programming.

Volunteer certificates for our Student Book Reviewer program, however will be emailed out on a monthly cycle.

ATTENTION CREATIVE STUDENTS: We have begun collecting submissions for our Autumn 2025 Juvenile/Young Adult Literary Magazine. All students in grades K-12 are welcome to submit their work. Please note that submissions will close on October 15th, 2025.
 
Before submitting, please download and sign our Intellectual Property Authorization and Release form. You must email this form to Ms. Erica at emeline@mountlaurellibrary.org in order to be considered. Submissions without a signed release form will not be eligible for consideration.

Students can submit the following works for consideration:
 
Poetry (no longer than one page)
Fiction or Nonfiction Writing (No longer than 5 pages)
Short Stories
Flash Fiction
Interviews
Reviews
Essays
Comics
Artwork
Photography
Students can submit up to one piece of work in each category.
 
Please submit all written work in .doc or .docx format using Times New Roman 12 pt. font single spaced. Visual work should be submitted as a pdf. When submitting, please include your name, grade level, and the type of work(s) you are submitting. Please contact Ms. Erica (email above) with any questions.
 
The selection process will be done by Mount Laurel Library staff. Applicants that are selected can expect to see their work featured in the Autumn Edition of the Mount Laurel Library’s magazine. The Autumn Edition is anticipated to be printed in November 2025.

Adopt-a-shelf Volunteering

Are you interested in long-term, independent volunteer hours? This opportunity is for tweens and teens ages 10-17 (18 if still in HS) to help the library maintain its collection. You will be responsible for cleaning, organizing and merchandising 2 sections of the library, one non-fiction, one fiction.

To receive your sections, you MUST:

  • pass a test: alphabetical order and numerical order, including decimal place and attend an in-person orientation
  • volunteer a MINIMUM of once every 2 weeks

Test and orientation are NOT eligible for volunteer hours.
Registration is required via the events calendar.
Test are offered once a quarter: January, April, July, and October
